NTC Taskforce
NTC Task Force Secretariat was established Shortly after the Prime Minister’s decision to accord permanent status to the NTC Task Force it is at the Planning Commission the members from the world Bank. PC-I of the NTCIP Secretariat has been approved by the ECNEC at a cost of Rs.1500 million (FEC: Rs.1080 million). It consists of two components, namely; (a) National Trade Corridor Management Unit (NTCMU) within the Planning Commission and; (b) Trade & Transport Facilitation Unit (TTFU) within the Ministry of Commerce. These units would provide intellectual guidance, policy measures and effective coordination among the concerned ministries to push the NTC Implementation Program for achieving the desired outcomes. The Secretariat would develop a Strategic Plan for Trade Supporting Infrastructure and Services containing regulatory framework, public-private partnerships (with investments requirement) and access to capital, knowledge and markets. It will monitor, assess, and improve performance of the reform process to be implemented by the ministries and their respective departments/agencies. NTC Secretariat has reconstituted the earlier NTC committees on target &reforms identification ,reform implementation and project preparation committees ,in order to achieve the setout targets, streamline NTC Program activities .The task force Committees working under explicit sector specific TOR,and carrying the work in terms of operationalizing and institutionalizing the following :
